Water Rockets
Water rockets are so exciting.
We filled our bottle rockets 1/3 full of water (that was the easy bit).
Next we pumped air into the bottle.
When the air pressure built up inside the rocket the rocket finally exploded.
These water rockets work by forcing air into a small space which then releases a valve and allows the rocket to fly into the air.
Air Rockets
Ms. McLoughlin's class made air rockets from 2D and 3D shapes last week.
We helped Ms. McLoughlin's class to launch them today in honour of Space Week.
We used a bicycle pump to put air in the tube.
When we opened the valve the rockets flew off into the air.
It is hard work launching rockets!

Library Visit
The librarians were SO helpful.
Teacher was fascinated to learn about the FREE app she can put on her phone and ipad that will let her borrow books, audiobooks and magazines for free.
Ask at the library, they have all the information there.
Library times: Tuesday to Saturdays 11-1 and 2-5.

Visit from the Connacht Rugby Team and Sam's Dad Tim Allnutt
On Tuesday 26th April, we were very excited and honoured that Sam's Dad organised for some of the Connacht Rugby squad to come and talk to us in our classroom. We met Niyi Adeolokun, Finlay Bealham, Jack Carty, Robbie Henshaw and the captain John Muldoon, who told us his favourite subject at school was Irish! They showed us some video clips of their best matches and told us what it is like to be a professional sports person.
Tim gave each of us a Connacht flag and he also gave us a rugby ball signed by the whole team.
UP CONNACHT!
